The application of heat increases blood flow to the injured area, thus supplying nutrients and oxygen needed to repair damaged tissue.
Use of heat for chronic injuries.
For relief of tense & sore muscles.
Use of heat is NOT indicated for acute injuries.
Not recommended for injuries relating to inflammation and swelling or pressure on nerves.
